The hidden gem in doctrine Covenants 121 to 123 that nobody's talking about, but we all should be doctrine Covenants 121 to 123 is a letter written by Joseph Smith while in Liberty Jail. In Liberty, Missouri. He's incarcerated in basically a dungeon and he's writing to the saints and in this letter, you feel the heart of a prophet. You feel the yearning and the desire to connect with God, the wonderings of like, God, where are you now, in this process is this hidden process that we can all implement in our life to receive personal revelation and connection from God. So what is this process? Well, think about it. This is what Joseph Smith is. He's writing his heart and his soul to God in the beginning of doctrine. In covenants, 121, he's like, God, where are thou? And he's pouring out his soul. We are going through hard times. The saints are suffering and they don't deserve it. Where are you? And then as he writes that, these words begin to flow through the pen. My son, peace be unto thy soul. And this great scriptural message of peace. And we see this back and forth through the rest of the letter where you have a little bit of Joseph Smith writing his thoughts and his soul, and then the Lord reaching out and speaking to him again, and Joseph writing a little bit more. And then the Lord reaching out to him and inspiring him with words of comfort. Now, here's the hidden gem. Any one of us can do the same process. We can sit down with a pen and a paper and bring our heart to God. It's almost like a prayer, but I don't want you to do it like a typical prayer. Start with just your heart, God. This is what I'm going through. And you just keep writing whatever you're going through, your struggles, your failures, your successes, your challenges, your obstacles, write whatever you're going through. And then as you're continuing that process, listen for God to start whispering to you his comforting words. And what I found is I do this and. God speaks to me, usually three things. Here's the kind of the three part message I usually get from God, and the words change and the phrases change, but it's usually something along these lines. I love you. I am with you, and the future is bright. Like when Jesus speaks to me in this way, I feel close to him. I feel his love and I feel his power. And so I wanted to bring you this quick episode and a quick challenge. And the challenge is to get a piece of paper and write your thoughts and feelings to God and then. One other thing I like to do is write my thoughts and feelings about Jesus. And as I've done that, I've felt a greater love for him. And then I just kinda listen as I'm writing and it's almost like a prayer moment where I'm, I'm writing these words of my struggles and pains. I'm writing my adoration for Jesus, and then he starts to speak his adoration for me. A fallen, broken. But son of God and his words usually come in the form of love, and I'm with you and your future's bright, and so I wanna give you a challenge to try this. Get a piece of paper, write your heart, write your soul, pour it out, write about Jesus, and then just keep writing until. He starts to speak to you and write the words that come to your mind. And don't worry, is that my own thought is a thought of something else. Don't worry about that. Just put it down. And sometimes what I do is I grab a different color pin when I know that God is speaking to me and I just write his words in a different color. And I promise you, God will speak to you through this process. I promise you He will testify of his love for you. I am not unusual. Joseph Smith's not unusual, we're broken, fallen men. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and this process to me is almost as powerful and is almost as important as the words themselves. There are some incredible words in these sections, but I cherish this process because it connects me to my savior. Give it a shot. Let me know what you think if you could, and have a great day, and remember, you're awesome and Jesus loves you
