Ducky's Delight, a playful reminder that you are loved. This is John Merrill Kirkman with Walking with the Savior Podcast Daily Episode. Sometimes we forget who we are. We get discouraged, compare ourselves to others, or focus on our mistakes. But in Deuteronomy 7, the Lord gives us a powerful reminder. You are special unto him. Not because you are perfect, not because you have figured it out, but because he loves you. Imagine your little rubber duck named Ducky floating along a big busy river. All the other ducks seem to know exactly where they're swimming. Some zoom ahead, others paddle in perfect lines. Ducky, though, keeps spinning in circles, bumping into lily beds, and getting tangled in reeds. It's easy for Ducky to feel little left out and wonder if he'll ever fit in. But then a gentle hand scoops Ducky out of the water, dries him off, and reminds him, You're my favorite little duck, just as you are. And that's how God sees you. Lovable, unique, and worth rescuing, no matter how splashy or silly your journey seems. God told his people, The Lord hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself. Think about that. Out of all the people in the world, the God of heaven knows your name, knows your heart, and loves you personally. You are not forgotten, you are not ordinary in his eyes. The scriptures continue. God is a God who rescues. He pulls people out of fear, discouragement, addiction, shame, and hopelessness. He doesn't just watch from a distance. He reaches in with a mighty hand. Maybe today you feel stuck in something, negative thoughts, stress, guilt, or exhaustion. Remember this. The same God who delivered his people anciently still delivers people today. Christ is still lifting people, still strengthening people, still redeeming people. And then comes this beautiful promise in Deuteronomy. Know therefore that the Lord thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy. God is faithful, people. People change, circumstances change, emotions change, but God remains faithful. So today, walk with confidence. Maybe even waddle a little like a ducky. You are loved by God just as you are. You are chosen, you are not alone, and the Savior's mighty hand is still reaching for you, guiding you forward. One step or paddle at a time.
